21 Day Challenge Update

So many people joined the 21 day challenge!!  We have people working on challenges ranging from exercising more often, doing pushups and sit-ups to putting down electronics at night and blogging each day.  I am so excited for everyone to be working on their challenges and to see what progress we can make.

Week 1 of my 21 day challenge was awesome!!  I ran on the treadmill each day last week and could even run for multiple minutes by the end of the week.  Don’t laugh you in shape people!!  I have never been able to run.  Even when I was in high school, I was very in shape and played a sport every season, but I was not a long distance runner.  I was built for speed!!  Ha!!!  So running for 6-7 minutes straight without taking a break is a big deal for me.  I am excited to think by the end of my 21 day challenge, I might be able to run 1 mile at a time.  Seriously not kidding I have never been able to do that and admitting it to you is a big step.

But my 21 day challenge has not come without it’s own struggles.  I had to fit my running in around children’s schedules and one night I had 25 minutes to run and then shower.  But I did it.  I was tired one night and really wanted to say no to the treadmill, but after I started and did my workout, I felt great!!  The only night I have missed was last night.

I am not sad about it, actually I am perfectly fine.  My good friend from high school was here and our kids got to play and we got to catch up.  She lives in Hawaii and I only get to see her once a year.  The third part of the Summer of ME was to reconnect with my friends and family and what a great reason to not run on the treadmill.   I walked in the morning.  Which I totally needed to do because I have a very long to do list, with this being the last week before teacher workshops and I was a little bit freaking out!!

I will be back on the treadmill today!!  If you have missed a day, don’t let it turn into not starting again.  I knew yesterday was going to be a challenge and I made my peace with skipping a day.  That’s why they call it a challenge. If it was easy, you and I would already be doing the things we have set out to do.  Just start again if you miss a day.  You got this!!

Challenge Time!!  Let us know how your 21 day challenge is going!!  Reply here in the comments or on our Facebook page, Speaking Jelinese.  I really believe part of any challenge is accountability so putting it out there helps all of us stay true to our goals.  If you did not start with us last week, don’t stress!!  You can start your own 21 day challenge any time.  Please join us and tell us what you are working towards.  I love hearing about all of the goals!!!

Talk to you soon!!

Angie
